Homemade Foot Soak Recipes :
Luxurious Foot Bath for Your Most Deserving Feet

Have a homemade foot soak after a long day is an affordable luxury for many of us with a few foot bath recipes.

Most women spend long time standing or walking around with high heel shoes. It can cause muscle ache and feet pain due to the daily stress we exert on our feet.

There are many foot care tips we can adopt and having a homemade foot soak is just one of them. The Chinese believes every organ in our body is connected to an acupuncture point on our feet - that is how foot reflexology comes about. By taking good care of our feet, it keeps us healthy too.

Having a foot soak or so call foot bath at home is simple and does not take up too much of our time. We need a big cotton towel, a basin big enough for our feet to submerge and probably a reading book or magazine as we unwind and relax for about half an hour.

Basic Homemade Foot Soak

- Baking Soda
- Two Tea Bags (your choice of peppermint, chamomile or green tea)
- Basin of Warm Water

Have a basin of warm water. The temperature of water should be hot enough for you to be able to tolerate while not too cold. Stir in the baking soda and drop two tea bags into the warm water. Soak in your tired, aching and most-deserving feet and relax for about 30 minutes.

Baking soda kills bacteria while the tea has inflammatory and antioxidant properties. These helps to keep your feet clean, healthy and fresh.

For some ladies who are looking for more than a simple foot bath, you can try out this recipe:

Fragrance Foot Bath

- 1 cup Epsom salts
- 1 drop of tea tree essential oil (helps fight fungal infections.)
- 1 drop peppermint essential oil
- several marbles

Fill bin with boiled water. Stir in Epsom salts until dissolved. Test the water-salt mixture temperature to ensure it reaches a comfortable level. Add essential oils and swish well to corporate. Place a layer of marbles in the bin.

Wash your feet with non-detergent soap and soak them in this mixture for about twenty minutes. Move your feet around the layer of marbles in the soak. It gives you a nice massage on your feet as you soak.

After the soak, give a foot and ankle massage using one of your favourite skincare oil.

Foot Spa

If you truly enjoy foot soak, you may want to do a foot spa too.

Use half a gallon of warm milk and throw in a handful of calendula flowers as foot bath. Place a layer of marbles in the warm milk. Soak for about ten minutes to soften the skin.

Give your feet a scrub with some foot scrub. Put your feet back into the milk mixture to rinse. Soak for another five minutes. Pat dry the skin and apply your favourite cream or lotion.

You can replace the milk foot bath with a foot mask if desire.

Of course, for those who are looking one step further on detox, then you can consider a detox foot soak or detox foot bath.
